The deadline to nominate someone is 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10.
The recipients will be honored Thursday, Feb. 20, at the annual Leadership and Awards Celebration presented by the Observer and the Livonia Chamber of Commerce at Laurel Manor Banquet & Conference Center.
The First Citizen Award recognizes a local person for outstanding volunteer community service. Nominators should highlight the nominee’s community service and the impact on the community.
The 2013 First Citizen was Charlie Mahoney, who has volunteered in the Livonia community for three decades, serving the Livonia Family YMCA, Livonia Symphony Orchestra, Livonia Chamber of Commerce and Livonia Community Foundation, among other organizations.
The Outstanding Youth Award recognizes a local student for outstanding volunteer community service. Students must live in the city or attend a Livonia public or parochial school.
