In preparation for our first meeting of the 2016-2017 school year, we are sharing our proposed budget.  We will be presenting the budget to our membership for adoption at our September General Membership Meeting.  We hope to see you there!

Article VII: Voting Body at a General Membership Meeting

Section 1. The voting body of this council at a general membership meeting shall consist of the Executive Board of this council; the principal of each school having council membership or his/her representative; the president of each member unit or their alternate; accredited delegates or their alternates as specified in Section 2 of this article.

Section 2. Each member PTA/PTSA shall be represented by its president or their alternate, the principal or his/her alternate; and by one (1) delegate or their alternate, selected by the PTA/PTSA according to its own bylaws and procedures.

Section 3. Members are entitled to one vote even though they may be serving in more than one position.

Section 4. The quorum shall be five (5) members.

Livonia PTSA Council Movie Night

PTA isn’t just audits, bake sales and Bylaws! The Livonia PTSA council invites all past and current Livonia PTA officers to join us for a night at the movies.

This week, our Middle School students learned about Chemistry and Genetics.  They ended the week with a Chemistry demonstration at Madonna University presented by Maria Kuhn, from the Department of Physical & Applied Science.

Livonia PTSA Council STEM update


Our inaugural camp kicked off on July 11. The camp, which runs from July 11- August 5th is held at the Livonia Career and Technical Center. Applications were open to LPS students in grades 6-8 for the 2015-2016 school year.

We have 23 participants and 9 adult volunteers with backgrounds in engineering, chemical engineering, genetic counseling, Oracle programming, as well as district teachers.  Livonia Warriors Robotics team members are assisting as mentors.

Tools for you to use from the National PTA!

tool kitYour 2016-2017 Back-To-School Kit Is Officially Live!
It’s that time of year again! The 2016-2017 National PTA Official Back-To-School Kit is finally here! As always, it’s jam-packed with tools, resources and info—all specially designed to help you run your PTA. It’s a one-stop click for everything you need to know.
For the second year, the kit is completely digital and mobile-friendly. This means you can view the website from your phone, tablet or other mobile devices. Having the Back-To-School Kit with you while you’re on the go is a big perk. We guarantee it will help you be more efficient and productive as a PTA leader.

Registration is a very simple process. Starting today, June 27, here is the process to get access to the kit:

  1. Go to PTAKit.org. President Laura Bay’s welcome video and the homepage are open to everyone.
  2. Once you begin to use the site, you’ll be prompted to register. There is also a “REGISTRATION” tab on the top right corner of the homepage.
  3. Fill out all of the required information.
  4. Once you’ve completed your registration, you’ll receive an email with a link. Click the link to set a username and password.
  5. After your username and password are set, you can access all areas of the Back-to-School Kit.
